We all remember our childhoods outdoors; days spent making mud pies, exploring local woodlands, hitting things with sticks, making dens in our gardens, inventing whole imaginary worlds with our friends, endless summers of outdoor fun with no computers to screens to tear us away from our imaginations.

Nowadays, more than ever, competition for our attention is fierce and we have less time to play, pause, decelerate, reflect, imagine our futures.  We’re driven by our to-do lists, rushing to pursue goals without asking ourselves whether they are even something we actually want. And we spend far too much time inside staring at a screen rather than in nature. This can leave us disconnected from our true feelings and desired futures, preventing us from making the changes we need in order to be at our best.

The science clearly shows that spending 3 days or more travelling in nature is where the magic really starts to happen. It is where we were designed and evolved to think best. Our attention is restored. We have different conversations, make new connections, form new ideas. We sort out our thoughts and we begin to build our own, powerful, imagined futures.

We love mountains. They offer a perfect blend of remoteness, limitless views and fantastic walking, and provide a real chance to take a short break from the norm.

Join us on a trip with a small group of like-minded idea explorers to free our creative thinking in the wild using tried and tested techniques from Garry’s book. These combine perfectly with walking and talking, and will support you with some deeply innovative thinking, with the aim of starting to bring about meaningful, positive change.

That nine-to-five is a hamster wheel, man. Get out and break free! Release that fluffy, domesticated hamster somewhere it can truly thrive: the wilderness.

Jason Hayes in The New Yorker,

This 4 night trip involves 3 ½ days of walking, dips in the sea, yoga and relaxation, staying in mountain refuges, guesthouses or small hotels, where we’ll be well looked after.

The Tramontana of Mallorca are easily accessible, but little visited, mountains that offer breath-taking views of the Mediterranean coupled with fantastic food and accommodation.

Give no credence to any thought that was not born outdoors while moving about freely.
